IS IT SAFE TO TRAVEL TO MOROCCO?As there are some cultural things to educate yourself about, Move Morocco provides safe trips. An experienced guide will be with you for the duration of your trip, helping to ensure your safety. Overall, Morocco has a good relationship with the US, and the local people will welcome you there with great hospitality.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN I TRAVEL TO MOROCCO?The climate is a dry desert. In winter, the temperatures are cold. In summer, very hot. Spring and fall are hot to moderate temps. The biggest thing to note however, is the fact that you'll be traveling to a Muslim country. This means that the people dress very modestly, especially women. We recommend wearing modest clothing.

I WANT TO EXPERIENCE MOROCCO BUT I DON'T HAVE A TRAVEL BUDDY.No problem! Move Morocco was founded on a women's retreat series. Here, at our women's culture retreats, you will meet other women, as well as connect with the culture of Morocco. Our goal is to create connection on both platforms.

WHAT CURRENCY SHOULD I TAKE?The currency used in Morocco is Moroccan Dirham (MAD), but is a closed currency which means you will not be able to bring it with you. You can take out cash in Morocco at ATMs once you arrive in Morocco. Please check with your bank that your card is accepted in Morocco before travel, and we highly recommend bringing two cards in case you have any issues. Please note: your bank may charge transaction fees when you use your card in Morocco.

WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS?Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Please let us know prior to your travel experience.

WHAT ABOUT THE WATER?The guides will provide you with 1.5L of water each day. Water is also available from natural springs and at various village stores along the way. You may want to consider taking purification tablets with you for use in the spring water.

IS THERE INTERNET AVAILABLE?WiFi is available at the hotels, and we recommend using an eSIM, which you can find HERE. However, please note that reception can be unreliable at times due to the remote location. There is no internet access at the mountain refuge, and phone signal may also be limited.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET FOR LUNCHES?You can plan on lunches being 100-200 MAD or $10-$20 per day per lunch.

WHAT IS THE TIPPING POLICY?Morocco has a strong tipping culture. Tipping is at the discretion of the guest and depends on your personal experience. At the end of your trip, if you feel that your guides and porters did an outstanding job, then tipping is greatly appreciated.

ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrive in Katmandu 3:30 pm
Pick up from airport and drop to the hotel. Check in and after refreshment, evening meeting with your guide for briefing.
Day 2 Sightseeing in Katmandu
After breakfast at hotel full day Kathmandu sightseeing tour to the UNESCO listed world
heritage sites, this includes Swayambhunath, also known as monkey temple which is one of the oldest Buddhist Stupa of the world. Kathmandu Durbar Square, popularly known as
Hanuman Dhoka and Basantapur Durbar Square is an ancient Royal residential quarter. We
can enjoy local tribe – Newari culture, art and try Newari typical foods there. The
Baudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupa in South Asia and is built on the ancient trade route to Tibet. Patan Durbar Square, an ancient Royal residential quarter. The ancient palaces, temples, and shrines, unique cultures, finest display of the craftsmanship and beautiful carvings are the main things to explore there. Lunch will be at tourist standard restaurant during sightseeing. Dinner and overnight at same hotel in Kthmandu.
Day 3 Morning Flight to Pokhara & Sightseeing
It’s half an hour flight to reach Pokhara, where you can enjoy beautiful view of Himalayan
range during the flight. On the same day, after check in at hotel in Pokhara sightseeing will start which will includes boating at Phewa Lake, visit to Tal Barahi Temple, short hike to World Peace Pagoda, Davis Fall and Gupteshwori cave.
Lunch will be at tourist standard restaurant during sightseeing.
Dinner and overnight at same hotel in Pokhara.
Day 4 Drive to Hile, Trek to Ulleri (6,430 Feet)
Early morning drive to Sarangkot to witness beautiful sunrise over Annapurna Himalayan
range. After breakfast, drive to Hile. From there officially trekking will start. Trail goes
through Tikhedhunga, a small settlement after passing Hile.
Total Drive duration: 3 hours
Total Trekkingduration: 2-3 hours
Total altitude gain: 1050Mtr.
Day 5 Trek to Ghorepani (9,350 Feet)
After breakfast at same hotel hike will start passes through hillside settlement of Banthati and Nangethati. Most of the trail will goes through forest, you can see blooming rhododendron during spring season. Lunch will be on way during trek. Dinner and overnight at tourist standard tea house in Ghorepani.
Trek duration: 4-5 hours
Total altitude gain: 890Mtr.
Day 6 Trek to Tadapani (8,860 Feet)
Early morning hike to Poon hill for Sunrise and back to hotel. After breakfast at hotel trek to Tadapani. On this day also trek will go through rhododendron forest with beautiful view of Annapurna range including Dhaulagiri, one of the eight thousand meter high mountain.
Thapla danda, Deurali and Banthati are the places passes on this day.
Lunch at teahouse during trek. Dinner and overnight at tourist standard tea house in
Tadapani.
Trek Duration: 6-7 hours including morning hike to poon hill.
Total Altitude gain: 400Mtr.
Total Altitude loss: 550Mtr.
Day 7 Trek to Ghandruk (6,627 Feet)
After breakfast at hotel, hike down to Ghandruk village through beautiful jungle trail. Most of the trail is downhill. After reached Ghandruk exploration around village, one of the popular local tribe – Gurung village of Nepal. Visiting old village, museums, monasteries, tea gardens are the things to do in Ghandruk.
Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at tourist standard tea house in Ghandruk.
Trek duration: 3-4 hours
Total Altitude loss: 680Mtr.
Day 8 Drive back to Pokhara & Fly back to Katmandu
After breakfast at hotel drive back to Pokhara. Road way will meet at Birethati and same way back to Pokhara. Fly back to Kathamndu after enjoying leisure time in Pokhara before flight. Lunch at Tourist standard restaurant in Pokhara. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Drive duration: 3-4 hours.
Day 9 Drop at Airport for Departure
Breakfast at hotel and drop to airport before 3 hours of your flight time.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Tea houses are cozy, family-run lodges along trekking routes, offering a simple but welcoming stay. Rooms have twin beds with blankets, and bathrooms are usually shared. The dining area is the heart of the tea house, where trekkers gather around a warm stove for hearty meals like dal bhat and momos. Wi-Fi and charging are sometimes available for a small fee. While basic, tea houses provide stunning mountain views, local hospitality, and a true Himalayan experience.
