Overview
This one is one of our fan favorites. If you like to immerse in the places you travel to, and get an even deeper sense of the lifestyle, as well as connect with local people, then this 8 day trip is for you. You will get to experiences things only locals will be able to show you. Your tour will include a stay at a family owned Riad, henna, tea with the nomads, and a hammam experience if desired.
You will also get the chance to enjoy an evening under the Sahara stars with the desert locals as they perform the authentic Berber drums at the desert camp. You will leave with a deep sense of the culture, hospitality, and lifestyle of the native desert dwellers.
Day 1 | Arrival in Marrakech; airport pickup, possible walk through souk, dinner at the square, and overnight at the Riad hotel. |
Day 2 | Tour of Marrakech to see the old palace, and medina, then free time to explore the vibrant areas of Marrakech. |
Day 3 | Travel from Marrakech to Dades Gorge. You will pass by the monkey fingers rock formations, and stop at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. |
Day 4 | Make the way to the desert, stopping for the authentic rug shop, or rock climbing. Stop at the Rissani market, and end the day at the beautiful Riad. |
Day 5 | Wake up to 4X4 vehicle ride in dunes, a visit to the nomad village, a music show by the Gnawa musicians, and a camel ride to the Sahara camp. |
Day 6 | Wake up early to see the Sahara sunrise, breakfast at the camp, depart for Fes, stop at cedar monkey forest, arrive in Fes for dinner at the Riad. |
Day 7 | See the beautiful view on top of the riad, take a day tour of Fes, see the tannery and ceramic shop, wind through the medina with local guide, visit hammam. |
Day 8 | Wake up to traditional breakfast, prepare for departure. |
Day 9 | Half-day guided tour of Marrakech, including souks and Koutoubia Mosque. Free afternoon, dinner at Jemaa El Fnaa square, Riad stay. |
Day 10 | Early departure for Casablanca airport for return flight. |
