Overview
This one is one of our fan favorites. If you like to immerse in the places you travel to, and get an even deeper sense of the lifestyle, as well as connect with local people, then this 8 day trip is for you. You will get to experiences things only locals will be able to show you. Your tour will include a stay at a family owned Riad, henna, tea with the nomads, and a hammam experience if desired.
You will also get the chance to enjoy an evening under the Sahara stars with the desert locals as they perform the authentic Berber drums at the desert camp. You will leave with a deep sense of the culture, hospitality, and lifestyle of the native desert dwellers.
Day 1 | Arrival in Marrakech, airport pickup, and transfer to Riad for dinner and overnight stay. |
Day 2 | Half-day guided tour of Marrakech, including souks and Koutoubia Mosque. Free afternoon for exploration; dinner at Jemaa ElFna square. |
Day 3 | Travel to Dades Gorge via Ait Benhaddou and Tizi n’Tichka pass; overnight in a guesthouse. |
Day 4 | Visit Toudra Gorge for rock climbing, then proceed to Merzouga for a welcome by Berber people. |
Day 5 | Desert experience with 4X4 vehicles, fossil hunting, tea with nomads, music by Gnawa people, and camel ride to luxury desert camp for dinner and overnight. |
Day 6 | Optional Sahara sunrise, sandboarding, visit Rissani market, and travel to Midelt with scenic stops; dinner and overnight in Midelt. |
Day 7 | Drive to Fes, visit forest monkeys en route, half-day tour of Fes including Bab Bou Jeloug and the medina; dinner at Riad. |
Day 8 | Departure from Marrakech after breakfast, airport transfer for flight home. |
