Overview
This one is one of our fan favorites. If you like to immerse in the places you travel to, and get an even deeper sense of the lifestyle, as well as connect with local people, then this 8 day trip is for you. You will get to experiences things only locals will be able to show you. Your tour will include a stay at a family owned Riad, henna, tea with the nomads, and a hammam experience if desired.
You will also get the chance to enjoy an evening under the Sahara stars with the desert locals as they perform the authentic Berber drums at the desert camp. You will leave with a deep sense of the culture, hospitality, and lifestyle of the native desert dwellers.
Day 1 | Arrival in Marrakech; airport pickup, possible walk through souk, dinner at the square, and ride to Imlil to stay in mountain village at trailhead. |
Day 2 | Begin trekking to base camp. Hike for 6 hours, stopping at the half way point for lunch provided by muleteers and guides. Overnight stay at refuge. |
Day 3 | Rise early to hike to the Summit for sunrise. Begin descent, stopping at the refuge for lunch. End the day back at the hotel for dinner, and bed. |
Day 4 | In the morning, the desert guide will begin the desert journey with you, drive to Dades Gorge, stopping for cultural sights, and panoramic High Atlas views along the way. |
Day 5 | Make the short drive to Merzouga, stopping for lunch and Henna, Ride the camels to the luxury camp, have dinner and Berber music around the fire, wake up for sunrise. |
Day 6 | Make way to the beauiful town of Ouarzazate, stop to walk along the gorge in Toudra, end the day with a stop at the authentic rug shop |
Day 7 | Drive back to Marakech where you will have time to explore the medina and the square for the day. If you choose, a local guide will show you around, dinner in the square. |
Day 8 | Wake up to traditional breakfast, prepare for departure. |
