  • IS IT SAFE TO TRAVEL TO MOROCCO?
As there are some cultural things to educate yourself about, Move Morocco provides safe trips. An experienced guide will be with you for the duration of your trip, helping to ensure your safety. Overall, Morocco has a good relationship with the US, and the local people will welcome you there with great hospitality.
  • WHICH AIRPORT IS BEST TO FLY INTO IF I'M COMING FROM THE UNITED STATES?
The most economical airports for flights from the US are Casablanca, or Marrakech
  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN I TRAVEL TO MOROCCO?
The climate is a dry desert. In winter, the temperatures are cold. In summer, very hot. Spring and fall are hot to moderate temps. The biggest thing to note however, is the fact that you'll be traveling to a Muslim country. This means that the people dress very modestly, especially women. We recommend wearing modest clothing.
  • I WANT TO EXPERIENCE MOROCCO BUT I DON'T HAVE A TRAVEL BUDDY.
No problem! Move Morocco was founded on a women's retreat series. Here, at our women's culture retreats, you will meet other women, as well as connect with the culture of Morocco. Our goal is to create connection on both platforms.
  • WHAT CURRENCY SHOULD I TAKE?
The currency used in Morocco is Moroccan Dirham (MAD), but is a closed currency which means you will not be able to bring it with you. You can take out cash in Morocco at ATMs once you arrive in Morocco. Please check with your bank that your card is accepted in Morocco before travel, and we highly recommend bringing two cards in case you have any issues. Please note: your bank may charge transaction fees when you use your card in Morocco.
  • WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS?
Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Please let us know prior to your travel experience.
  • WHAT ABOUT THE WATER?
The guides will provide you with 1.5L of water each day. Water is also available from natural springs and at various village stores along the way. You may want to consider taking purification tablets with you for use in the spring water.
  • IS THERE INTERNET AVAILABLE?
WiFi is available at the hotels, and we recommend using an eSIM, which you can find HERE. However, please note that reception can be unreliable at times due to the remote location. There is no internet access at the mountain refuge, and phone signal may also be limited.
  • HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET FOR LUNCHES?
You can plan on lunches being 100-200 MAD or $10-$20 per day per lunch.
  • WHAT IS THE TIPPING POLICY?
Morocco has a strong tipping culture. Tipping is at the discretion of the guest and depends on your personal experience. At the end of your trip, if you feel that your guides and porters did an outstanding job, then tipping is greatly appreciated.
