This one is one of our fan favorites. If you like to immerse in the places you travel to, and get an even deeper sense of the lifestyle, as well as connect with local people, then this 8 day trip is for you. You will get to experiences things only locals will be able to show you. Your tour will include a stay at a family owned Riad, henna, tea with the nomads, and a hammam experience if desired.
You will also get the chance to enjoy an evening under the Sahara stars with the desert locals as they perform the authentic Berber drums at the desert camp. You will leave with a deep sense of the culture, hospitality, and lifestyle of the native desert dwellers.
Day 1 | Arrive in Tangier, transfer to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Explore the "Blue City," with its blue-hued streets and vibrant markets. |
Day 2 | Depart Chefchaouen for Fes, stopping at Volubilis for Roman ruins and Midelt in the Middle Atlas Mountains for landscapes and local cuisine. |
Day 3 | Tour the ancient city of Fes, including the medina, Bou Inania Madrasa, tanneries, and souks. Experience the city's history, culture, and food. |
Day 4 | Travel from Fes to Merzouga, stopping at a cedar forest to see Barbary macaques. Experience the diverse landscapes from mountains to desert. |
Day 5 | Engage with nomadic communities, fossil hunting, 4x4 dune ride, and camel trek. Overnight at a desert camp with Moroccan cuisine and Berber music. |
Day 6 | Leave Merzouga for Rissani market, explore Todra Gorge in Tinghir, and arrive in Dades for an evening in scenic surroundings. |
Day 7 | Depart Dades Gorge, travel through High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Explore souks, landmarks, and Moroccan cuisine in the city. |
Day 8 | Tour Marrakech's medina, including Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Jardin Majorelle, and local souks. Experience the city's vibrant culture and food. |
